April 25 to the 27th was a successful field trip to Carson City for the 7th graders.

They spent their time learning more about the history of Nevada in and around the state capital.  The 7th graders visited so many amazing places such as Virginia City, Nevada State Museum, the Governor’s Mansion, the State Capitol Building, University of Nevada-Reno, and DeLaMare Library. Many legends and stories were told talking about how some of the most well-known people and places in Northern Nevada came to be and are now famous. One story they told about was how the miners would work endlessly day and night in harsh conditions. They were so determined to find gold that it didn’t matter what the circumstances were. In the end, hard work did pay off and some succeeded.

Although the 7th graders spent their time learning, they also enjoyed bowling, playing in the snow, and having a nice cruise on Lake Tahoe. Overall, Carson City was an amazing trip! The 7th graders all enjoyed it and had so much fun. All of the workers and helpers there were extremely kind and generous to make this field trip even more special for them. It truly was a once in a lifetime experience for 7th grade to be able to go to all of the different places in Carson City.

Jessica Dieleman from 7B said, “My favorite part was the Governor’s Mansion because we got to see all his different pets and some of the rooms in his house. Carson City was very educational and I had so much fun with my friends.”

Stryder Ratajcyk from 7B stated, “Exploring Virginia City and bowling night were probably my favorite part about Carson City. I found that it was very interesting how Nevada became a state.”

Chase Sanchez from 7A said, “Carson City was a very fun trip! It’s something you should look forward to all year. My favorite part of the trip was the night of the Dinner Cruise. We ate amazing food and danced the night away! Trust me, you’ll have an amazing time in Carson City.”

Amelia Azares from 7A said, “My favorite part of Carson City was all the memories that were made, such as flying in the airplane with my friends, having free time in Virginia City, going bowling, and visiting all of the museums. I learned a lot in Carson City about the history of Nevada.”

Isabel Napoli from 7B stated, “My favorite parts of the trip were the Nevada State Museum and Virginia City. I enjoyed learning about our state’s history and culture at the museum. I also loved going into the “mines” and “ghost town” there, too. Virginia City was a blast! I admired the old architecture and ways of life. I am so thankful for having the opportunity to go and learn about our state in Northern Nevada with my school!”
