On Sunday March 4th, the St. Viator Booster Club hosted their 4th annual golf tournament.

After a wonderful Mass on the green with Father Bill, the players teed off and had a great time. A luncheon was then provided to the players, as well as a raffle with prizes. That Sunday was also Father Bill’s birthday and was celebrated by all in attendance.

At the tournament, the Booster Club announced that the annual golf tournament will be renamed, “The Father Bill Haesaert Booster Golf Tournament”. He was so honored and deeply expressed his gratitude to everyone at the event.

Father Bill stated with tears of joy, “God has given me the gift of your support, your prayers, and your love and it has been very very meaningful to me through all the years that I have been here at St. Viator’s and I am hoping to be with you for many years to come.”

Darrel Overturf and Paul Hartz will be the new co-chairs of this annual event.

“I believe renaming the tournament gives it new life that branches into our church community as well has the many people Fr. Bill has served for so many years. But more importantly fr. Bill deserves the honor for all he has done for the school and parish. My goal is to keep it growing we doubled our turnout this year and I only seeing getting bigger”, Paul Hartz, new co-chair stated.

Mr. Overturf said, “A goal I’ve been thinking about is making a concerted effort to get parents of the younger children involved. We’re on a good path incorporating more from the parish but for continued growth I think those parents just getting started at St Viator can become part of the stronger foundation of faith the tournament is built upon.”

The SVS Booster Club’s proceeds go straight to the athletic teams and clubs here at SVS including basketball, chess, band, forensics, and many other sports and clubs. The money is used for new uniforms and/or equipment for the teams. We are so grateful to have the support and love from our community.
